| Summary: | The study was intended to determine the use of planning methods in users of Health Center Chonta Punta in Rayayacu Tena.; the technique was applied in 48 women. The investigation design was: Transversal, descriptive, bibliography, field. As a result it was found that the 39.58% of women are in the age of 20 to 29 years. Followed by 30 to 39, 16.67% were adolescents. Predominantly indigenous population 56.25%, 50% predominant marital status of cohabitation in 41.67% followed by the 35.41% married, have secondary primary schooling followed with 41.67% the main occupation is housework at 52.08%, followed by agriculture with 20.84% and 14.58% are students. They use family planning methods the 69.70%; they stopped using the methods 30.30%. The main types of methods used by women are injections 65.22%, 21.74% pills and implants the 13.04%. Regarding women who stopped using methods are more injections and implants at 40% each; tablets dropped 20%. Experienced side effects: fatten the 43.47%, 17.39% headache and stopped menstruating the 13.04%. Women who don´t use because of ignorance 66%. As main causes of abandonment concern: headache 40% to 30% have children. It was concluded that 69.70% use family planning methods and 40% of those leave because secondary effects like headache.
