| Résumé: | The bicycle is a personal transport vehicle, consisting of two wheels in a metal frame, a handlebar, a self-propelled system by pedals and a braking system. On its origin and creation there are different places and dates, even Leonardo da Vinci is attributed the first draft. The frame, is the structure to which the other components are fixed as the fork, wheels, saddle and handlebar, and must have a rigid structure capable of withstanding great efforts. It is constructed of various materials, such as aluminum, steel, carbon fiber, titanium among others and which determine the characteristics of the mountain bike. In the present work it was proposed to design a mountain bike frame, to select the most suitable material for its elaboration; develop its construction and submit the design to 3D modeling software to determine the effort to which it is subjected. Other characteristics to be considered in the design were its low cost of processing, finishing and maintenance. For the design of the frame, the ALMA H50 model was taken as a reference, from the Spanish brand Orbea and the selected material was the 304 stainless steel, due to its low cost locally and ease of acquisition. The 3D simulation showed that the proposed model exceeded the safety factor and was stable to deformation. Finally, the construction and finishing did not present difficulties and common tools were used. Keywords: Design, bicycle, frame, steel 304. |
