La familia en el proceso de envejecimiento de los usuarios del Centro Adulto Mayor Vilcabamba y la intervención del trabajo social

The thesis entitled "THE FAMILY IN THE AGING PROCESS OF THE USERS OF THE CENTRO ADULTO MAYOR VILCABAMBA AND THE INTERVENTION OF SOCIAL WORK". Its purpose is to explain the role played by the family in the aging process of the elderly, being a vulnerable group of our population that requires priority attention and the importance of the family for its integral development. In the field research, the data are reflected quantitatively and qualitatively, which has allowed us to verify the problem under study. How Does Low Family Participation Affect the Aging Process of Users Who Attend the Elderly Vilcabamba Center? Where the general objective is stated, Strengthen the active participation of families in the aging process of the Vilcabamba adult center users based on a proposal that generates well-being in the quality of life of the elderly through family relationships; and as specific objectives, To theoretically and methodologically base the analysis categories referring to the family in the aging process of the elderly, Determine the causes and consequences generated by the family in the aging process of users of the Vilcabamba adult center, Prepare a proposal for participatory intervention aimed at improving family relationships of the elderly to improve the quality of life of users of the Vilcabamba adult center. In order to carry out the research process, the method of the abstract to the concrete was used, through the model of the intervention in reality with its respective levels and phases, which allowed the problem to be unstructured. Also, through the use of research techniques and instruments such as the direct observation form, interviews and structured surveys applied to a sample of 35 older adults, 35 families and 4 professionals working in the Vilcabamba Senior adult center, the use of these techniques and instruments allowed to fulfill the objectives set out in the research process. The purpose of the study is to analyze the criteria by means of a qualitative and quantitative analysis of the categories that are established in the data obtained and the analysis of the bibliographic categories needed in the research such as: The Family, the Aging Process, Elderly, and Social Work, which are supported theoretically and strengthen the study process Finally, the research concludes that the highest percentages are poor communication, a regular affective treatment, the lack of family participation in the activities of the elderly and the lack of commitment and involvement of the family group in the integral development, results that allowed design a proposal that contributes to family integration to improve the quality of life of users who attend the Vilcabamba Senior Citizen Center.
