| Gaia: | In this project, a prototype of a geolocation, tracking and identification system for people in real-time has been developed for the city of Loja, using the GSM/GPRS network. The system provides as main functionalities the person's location real-time monitoring, allowing guardians to know his or her exact position at all times, establishing geographic limits to restrict the person's route and receiving alert notifications when this limit is exceeded, in addition to obtaining the location of the tracked person through text messages. To carry out these functions, the system is structured in three fundamental stages: geolocation and tracking, information storage, and monitoring. The geolocation and tracking stage employs hardware devices with three essential components: a GPS module to obtain the location of the person, a GSM/GPRS module for communication through the mobile network, and a microcontroller for programming these modules. On the other hand, the storage and monitoring stage is carried out by software, processing and storing the location information in a database. The resulting data can be visualised through a web interface or a mobile application. With this prototype it seeks to strengthen the security and protection of citizens, providing an effective tool in situations of missing persons. In addition, this curricular integration work offers the reader both a theoretical and practical understanding of the technologies employed. The convergence of these technologies not only enables the creation of practical solutions but also enriches the educational field, highlighting the importance of applied research in the telecommunications sector.
