| Izvleček: | The gross motoricity development allows to perform different body movements to make through large muscles, in order to the balance, agility, strength and speed development involving actions such as: walking, jumping, running, which are main in the growth, proving meaningful and exploring around the world, for this reason, in the present investigation, the objective was to determine how the traditional games improve the gross motoricity development in the initial level II in the 18 de Noviembre elementary school in the city of Loja period 2021-2022.The investigation was cause-experimental type, with a mixed approach for which methods such as: analytical-synthetic facilitated to analyze and abbreviate the collected information for elaborating of the theoretical framework of topics about gross motoricity and traditional games; moreover deductive-inductive method allowed to carry out the proposed objectives, the elaboration of knowledge and the accurate conclusions. The instrument was Test the Tepsi of psychomotor development from 2 to 5 years of Haeusler and Marchant, which was applied to 27 children sample and permitted to demonstrate that 67% percentage of them were at risk, therefore to reduce these difficulties in the gross motoricity area, an alternative proposal based on traditional games was applied, obtaining that 85% percentage improved gross motor skills, reaching the normal level.
