Influencia del tiempo de almacenamiento previo a la incubación sobre el desarrollo embrionario incubabilidad y calidad del pollito criollo

This research was conducted in the San Jose Parish Puyango canton Mercadillo, the aim was to determine the storage time prior incubation on embryonic development, hatchability and chick quality criollo. 1440 Creole eggs from hens managed under the traditional breeding system or backyard were used, Completely Randomized Experimental Design was used with six treatments and three repetitions. Each experimental unit represented by 80 eggs. The treatments were designated according to the days of egg storage corresponding to T1 (one day), T2 (three days), T3 (six days), T4 (nine days), T5 (12 days) and T6 (15 days). The greater weight of eggs was obtained in the treatment six with an average of 57 grams; most hatchability was achieved in three treatment with 88.7%; the biggest chick weight was obtained in the treatment each with an average weight of 38 grams; the best chick quality obtained in three treatment averaging 96.4%; the three treatment had an early embryo mortality (1 -7 days) of 2.1%; the average embryo mortality (8-18 days) treatment with 3.3% one; Late embryonic mortality and (19-21días) with 4.2%. Based on these results, under similar conditions of the present study is recommended to store eggs for up to six days, with an average weight of 57 g.
