Resumo:Adequate vaccination coverage and protection against infectious and contagious diseases should reach 95%, and compliance with the adequate vaccination schedule produces immunity against preventable diseases. The general objective of the research was to determine the compliance of vaccination coverage in children under 5 years of age in the Carigán neighborhood, obtaining a coverage of 81% for BCG and HB vaccines, with the lowest coverage of 6% for influenza. This is a quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional study, with a sample of 144 children under 5 years of age together with their parents; the data were obtained through the application of previously elaborated surveys addressed to parents and another one to health professionals, obtaining the following results: The most notable was that most of the parents had a high school level of education, most were of mixed race, most had a high level of knowledge about vaccination, there was evidence of a poor level of compliance and the strategies applied by health professionals were established, among the main ones were telephone calls to parents (100%), home-to-home vaccination brigades (71.43%) and followup of the vaccination card (100%). Finally, it was identified that most children comply with a certain percentage of the vaccination schedule and that sociodemographic, cultural, and institutional factors have an impact on vaccination compliance
