DIAGNÓSTICO SOBRE LA VIOLENCIA HACIA LA MUJER EN EL CANTÓN LOJA, DURANTE EL AÑO 2017

The Constitution of Ecuador guarantees a life free of violence, through the adoption of necessary measures to prevent, eliminate and punish all forms of violence against women; However, despite the regulations that govern this type of crime, the lack of implementation of real and specific public policies is evident, since according to INEC data, during the year 2017, every three days there was a new victim of femicide, and what is femicide ?, but the final result of violence against women. The objective of this research is to know at what level of studies, marital status, age and economic activity violence occurs in its four types: physical, psychological, economic and sexual violence; in order to establish to what aspect more emphasis should be placed on the prevention of violence; To obtain this information, we surveyed 382 women aged 18 to 65, from the urban and rural areas of our canton. Another objective was to know the causes that are behind the violence against women and the consequences this has on their lives. The main results obtained are: that the most frequent type of violence suffered by women is psychological, that women between the ages of 18 and 25 are the most vulnerable, that the causes of violence are associated with jealousy, consumption of alcohol and drugs, and the infidelity of their partners.
