| Summary: | The present research work entitled “Evaluation and technical improvement of pressurized irrigation efficiency in coffee cultivation in the Potrerillos parish, Gonzanamá canton” was carried out in order to evaluate the agronomic design and hydraulic operation of the drip irrigation system installed on the property of Mr. José Jiménez on an irrigation area of 1 hectare. The evaluation of the agronomic design was carried out for which it was necessary to determine the hydro physical properties of the soil, disturbed and undisturbed soil samples were taken with the help of the 100 cm3 Koppecky cylinders and the borehole; In the agronomic design, the water needs of the coffee crop were calculated, for this the Penman-Montieth method was applied considering the meteorological data of the Nambacola station. With the results of the hydro physical properties of the soil (saturation, field capacity, permanent wilting point, apparent density, texture) and the need for maximum irrigation, the sheet, time and frequency of irrigation were determined. For the evaluation of the hydraulic operation, the Christiansen uniformity coefficient (Cu) of 85.75%, the distribution uniformity (UD) of 81% and the coefficient of variation of the drippers (Cv) of 0.18 were obtained. Finally, recommendations and alternatives were proposed to improve the management and maintenance of the irrigation system. Among the main results were: the available flow rate 0.16 l/s is theoretically deficient for the crop surface; the maximum water requirement for coffee cultivation was 2.44 mm/day; the basic infiltration rate of water in the soil was 20.56 mm/h; the irrigation sheet was 9.96 mm; the frequency of 4 days and the irrigation time of 2h36min. Keywords: evaluation, irrigation, agronomic, hydraulic, maintenance, coffee. |
