| Résumé: | Psychosocial well-being is a fundamental factor in the learning process, recognizing that students not only need to acquire academic knowledge, but also to develop emotional and social skills allowing them to face life in a balanced and healthy way. The importance of psychosocial well-being in the learning process of General Basic Education (EGB) students of the Cristobal Colon Educational Unit was analyzed. Relevant theories that address the relationship between psychosocial well-being and educational development were explored, identifying how it influences academic performance and the learning environment. In addition, the specific dynamics that link the emotional and social state of students with their school performance were determined. The methodology used was the mixed method, through the application of instruments such as the survey to 23 students of fifth and sixth year EGB, and interview to two teachers responsible for the two academic courses, which allowed to obtain positive results since, (52%) of the students surveyed feel that their teachers “always” offer them the emotional support they need, However, 70% of the students consider that their emotions influence their ability to concentrate, showing that most of the students face a constant connection between their emotional state and their academic performance, which represents an important challenge in the learning process. The results showed that the educational environment contributes significantly to the psychosocial well-being of the students and allows them to continue forming not only academically competent students, but also integral human beings who feel good about themselves and their environment, promoting spaces of trust, respect and collaboration |
