It is vital to consider an older adult as a dependent person, since they may be vulnerable, fragile, and deteriorating, either due to a disease or by the aging process itself. As a result of the loss of autonomy and functional ability to perform general activities of daily living, the family becomes the first source of direct help and assistance. This study presents a conceptual, doctrinal, and legal study of the vulnerability of the elderly over 65 years of age, as well as the obligation of public entities to provide food to those who do not receive benefits or retirement pensions. Furthermore, the reasons for which the elderly do not seek alimony from their relatives were examined, as well as what happens to those who have no relatives to take care of them. |
