要約:Tuberculosis is caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, considered as the second global cause of mortality from infectious diseases in adults, causing 1.9 million deaths each year. The abandonment of the TB treatment is one of the main cause of relapses and the emergence of resistant strains. In this descriptive study conducted in the areas of health no. 1,2 and 3 of the urban area of the city of Loja, where they identified cases of neglect of TB during the period from January 2012 to May 2013, identifying 50 cases of pulmonary tuberculosis represented by 46 %; appearing greater number of cases in the health area No. 2 with 42.1 %. Of the total number of patients with pulmonary tuberculosis, 19 people left the antituberculous treatment (38 %); still incidence in the health area No. 2 and in males at the age of 41 to 60 years (31.6 % ); in addition, patients with TB discontinued treatment in the first phase (63.2 %) in the months of 2 to 6 months. The precipitating factors in the abandonment of the therapy for the control of tuberculosis stood out:Little accessibility to health of subcentre with 73.6 %, lack of economic resources 68.4 %, lack of family support 57.9 %, lack of information about the disease 47.4 %, adverse effects to the drugs 42.1 %, presenting symptoms such as nausea, headache, digestive disturbances, lack of labor support 36.8 %, alcohol problems 31.6 %, multidrug resistance was present 26.3 %, illiteracy and presence of other diseases 10.5% respectively.
