| Özet: | Sleep is the state of uniform rest of the organism absolutely necessary for an adequate physical and psychic functioning, it helps to the regeneration of hormones and cells, memory and the immunological system; however, the pathological processes during the hospitalization affect the sleep and the favorable evolution in the patient's state of health. The described disorder affects the population worldwide by 45-60% that requires hospitalization services due to internal and external factors; Thus, Western Europe, the prevalence of this type of factor is between 20% -40%, and in Latin America it is estimated that it affects in a 35% of hospitalized patients. This study is quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional, it was done in the hospitalized patients of the Internal Medicine Area in the Isidro Ayora of Loja hospital; whose objectives corresponded to determine the internal and external factors that alter the sleep of the hospitalized patient; We worked with a population of 132 patients to whom a survey based on the Oviedo questionnaire was applied; the results show that among the external factors that "always" alter sleep, the lighting reaches 71.21%, the smells and noise 53.03%, the taking of vital signs 71.21%, the medication administration 62.12%, "from time to time "The discomfort of the bed 59.09%, the channeling of peripheral roads 45.45%. Among the internal factors that "always" cause sleep disturbance were determined: pain 51.51%, cough / dyspnea 40.90%, "occasionally" fever 60.60%. Of psychological type we found that anxiety 62.16%, concerns 59.09%, and 56.09% fear. Therefore, it is concluded that external factors affect sleep in a greater proportion in relation to internal factors. Key words: Sleep, rest, hospitalized patient. |
