| Sumari: | The analysis of the change in vegetation cover and the land use of a specific place requires special attention, since its study implies knowing the fragmentation and effects on ecosystems at landscape scales. This investigation evaluated the change of vegetation cover and the land use, and the grade of fragmentation of landscape of Piñas since 1986 until 2019; the work was to perform the classification and interpretation of satellite images (Landsat 5 TM y Landsat 8 OLI) using the computing environment in cloud Google earth engine (GEE). It's determined earnings, lost and net changes of coverage in 1986 – 2019. The changes in the coverage were present through maps, bar graphics and transition matrix. For the analysis of landscape fragmentation, were calculated spatial metric to level of: Index of shape, number of patches, density of patches, density of border and euclidian distances to nearest neighbor through the study package " Landscapemetrics" it was elaborated fragmentation maps with help of Guidos Toolbox program. In Piñas canton since 1986 until 2019 the forest increases 2 791,89 ha of surface, the shrub and herbaceous vegetation 1 223,18 ha, the anthropic zone 261,47 ha, while the land agricultural and bodies of water reduced their coverage 4 289,53 ha and 0,49 ha. To level of landscape, it was reported high fragmentation in the Piñas canton, while the class level of vegetation forest cover and shrub herbaceous vegetation were presented insularization, patches with irregular shapes and increase of density in borders and patches; on the other hand, the metric of landscape euclidian distance decrease because of area recovery of natural coverage.
