Summary:It is vital to vaccinate children during the first months of life, half of all pertussis deaths, one-third of all polio cases and one-fourth measles mortality occur within the first year of life. Vaccination in the most effective way to keep the population healthy prevents diseases that can become dangerous, and the most important is that not only protects the individual but the entire population. With this argument, it was carried out the descriptive study which aimed to determine the level of knowledge of the vaccination scheme in mothers of children less than 2 years in the Health Center No. 3 in the city of Loja. To do this, a questionnaire of eleven questions was applied to 100 mothers of infants who attended the aforementioned operative unit. The results were tabulated and processed using the Microsoft Word 2013 program. Almost all the investigations were aware of the importance of vaccination and the need to comply with the vaccine scheme in 91%. Keywords: Importance, Scheme, Mothers, Vaccines.
