Тойм:The present research work will allow us to know the prevalence of gender violence in women based on the asymmetry of power, taking into account that gender violence persists as one of the most evident manifestations of unequal relationships, subjugation and power of men over women in a patriarchal system. This research had as an objective to analyze the prevalence of gender violence in women based on the asymmetry of power in the urban parish of Chaguarpamba, as well as its purpose was to determine the environment where violence is most frequent, the type of violence and its prevalence. This study has a quantitative cross-sectional cohort methodology, with a probabilistic sample, it means, the population was considered randomly, where 100 women from the urban area of the Chaguarpamba town who met the inclusion criteria were selected, based on the application of the survey it can be stated that it has a Cronbach's alpha of 0.91. The results obtained allow us to affirm with great certainty that there is a prevalence of violence of 62%, being the intra-family environment where the most violence is perceived according to the inhabitants, on the other hand, in terms of type of violence, the verbal type is the most common within the sector, followed by the psychological violence. In conclusion, after the respective comparison it can be stated that 6 out of 10 women suffered from verbal and psychological violence within the family environment. Regarding actions to prevent gender violence, it is necessary to emphasize that the workshops that were addressed to women in the Chaguarpamba town made it possible to raise awareness and make known the types of violence, and how to act if it occurs.
