विवरण
सारांश:The purpose of this investigation was to determine the morbi-mortality, etiology and complications in intestinal pathology in patients aged 18 to 90 years old with acute abdomen who underwent a primary raffia or ostomy at the Manuel Ygnacio Monteros hospital in Loja during the period 2013-2017. It was a quantitative, descriptive, retrospective and cross-sectional study; developed in a population of 325 patients with acute abdomen, who had intestinal pathology, of which 64 patients underwent surgery. I found that the most common etiology was neoplastic and the most used surgical technique was ostomy (67.18%). There was a higher percentage of complications when the primary repair technique was used (38,09%), however, the highest mortality rate was evident in patients who underwent an ostomy (29,69 %). Making a good surgical decision will condition a satisfactory evolution of the patient, therefore, a study based on the reality of the country is necessary to know which of the two techniques has more advantages for the patient and health system. The primary suture technique is more economical and feasible, because the patient returns to normal life faster; but due to various situations, surgical treatment must be individualized.
