Sumari: | The present research work includes the characterization of areas of interest of non-metallic raw materials for the production of flat ceramics in the cantons of Pindal, Celica, Macará, and Zapotillo at a scale of 1:50000, in which emphasis has been placed on the determination of physical, chemical and industrial properties, to be able to recognize their application. To do this, it has been necessary for the first instance to carry out planning based on pre-existing bibliographic documentation and remote sensing of the study area, preliminary activities necessary for the establishment of criteria that allow the recognition of those areas considered as potential. These were subsequently corroborated in the identification and selection of samples within the geological fieldwork and finally characterized using laboratory analysis (physical, chemical, mechanical and physical-ceramic tests). From the results of the samples obtained, it was possible to determine seven indications of marly clays, three indications of non-marly clays that are not very plastic, two indications of non-marly clays that are plastic, one indication of limestone, and finally three indications of type I feldspars. Finally, the research work is summarized in a Web Map (georeferenced database), made with the free software QGIS, which is stored on the internet through a free digital repository GitHub. Its content is freely accessible, and therefore the results of each identified mineral sample of the research can be visualized. Keywords: ceramics, loamy clays, web map, non-metallic mineral, non-metallic mineral. |
