Análisis estadístico de distribución temporo - espacial y factorial de Salmonella No Tifoidea en la Zona 7, periodo 2018 a 2022

Foodborne diseases (FBDs) have a major impact on public health and the economy worldwide. They are caused by consuming contaminated food or water. Non-typhoidal Salmonellae are one of the main etiological agents of foodborne diarrheal disease globally. Prevention and food safety are essential to avoid its spread and protect the health of the population. The present research aimed to establish the epidemiological trend of non-typhoidal salmonellosis of the inhabitants belonging to the cantons and provinces that make up zone 7, from 2018 to 2022. It was configured as an analytical study with a mixed approach whose population was constituted by 1165 registered cases, obtained from the epidemiological gazettes of the Ministry of Public Health whose results reveal greater affection to the female sex and the age group of 20 to 49 years, The most notable outbreaks were in 2018 with 33.04% (n=385) of the total number of cases, mostly affecting the province of Zamora Chinchipe and a notable increase in the province of Loja of 7.72% (n=90) compared to 14.33% (n=167) of the total of zone 7 for the year 2022; thus determining that non-typhoidal Salmonella continues to be a pathogen of epidemiological interest whose impact continues to affect public health in the provinces of zone 7 of Ecuador
