Estudio comparativo técnico y de factibilidad de los estándares de radiodifusión digital terrestre IBOC (Canal dentro de banda) y DRM (Radio Digital Mundial) para la implementación en la ciudad de Loja.

This project is a comparative technical and feasibility research of earthbound digital broadcasting standards IBOC (In-band on the channel), and DRM (Digital radio Mondiale), the development of this research is targeting to establish an appropriate digital broadcasting standard for future deployment in the radio stations in Loja city. Implementation of a digital system would allow radio stations to offer better quality sound, provide to users additional services which are currently offered, and take advantage in a better way the radio spectrum assigned to each one of the radio stations. Comparative and analytical methods were used in the development of the thesis project, allowing a prior study of the digital broadcasting standards IBOC and DRM, where was analyzed the different architectures, services offered by these digital systems, characteristics and topology of digital systems IBOC and DRM. Subsequently, through a comparative analysis of technical parameters, we proceeded to carry out the assessment of each of the parameters and we determined that the digital standard Digital Radio Mondiale (DRM) is the best to adapt as a digital system in the radio stations in Loja with the 80% compared with 60% of the IBOC system. To complement this thesis work a general scheme of a digitalized radio station was developed for the frequency bands AM and FM with their respective DRM digital equipment.
