Шошго нэмэх | Тойм: | The role of the family in career guidance for young people is to provide the support, guidance, and resources required to make informed career decisions. The objective of this research is determine the influence and relationship that the family has about the choice university major by high school students of Pio Jaramillo Alvarado in Loja 2022-2023. A mixed approach was used, using a non-experimental design with a descriptive, analytical and explanatory range, the scientific, analytical, descriptive and correlational methods were used. In the same way, for the data collection, quantitative techniques were used, as an instrument the survey applied to a population of 135 young people from high school in the morning section, obtaining that 93% were at a very low-level regarding information on the role professional family guidance and only 7% had an unclear knowledge. In order to address the problem raised, the guide test called "Discover your professional career: Explore your employment destiny" was applied. This tool will provide guidance and support for students for making decisions about their future college career, catching their interest in the different career options available after finishing high school. As their knowledge increases over time, it hopes that it will become easier for them to make decisions about their future. As a result, these ideas and suggestions concluded that the role of the family in the decisions that the young people had positively influences on their academic and professional future, and the improvement about vocational guidance processes.
