Propuesta de un Modelo de Gestión para el Desarrollo Turístico Local de la Parroquia Los Encuentros del Cantón Yantzaza

The following research work has been carried out with the objective of making a proposal for a Management Model for the local tourist development in Yantzaza canton specifically in Los Encuentros Parish, that will promote the growth and improvement of the living conditions of its inhabitants, this through sustainable tourism that allows the balance of benefits for both visitors and hosts, establishing tourism management practices that have a positive impact on the social, economic and environmental aspects of the destination under study, thus addressing the problem of the lack of promotion and attention by local authorities. Ignorance has generated that people do not give the tourist activity its real importance, causing the decrease in local development, as well as the dismissal of natural and cultural resources considered potential tourist attractions for the enjoyment of tourists. A descriptive diagnosis was made based on the methodology proposed (Ricaurte Quijano, 2009) to determine causes that limit the development of tourism considering the current conditions in which the territory operates both in tourist attractions and infrastructure. The research methodology used is bibliographic, documentary and field; of a descriptive - correlational type, with qualitative and quantitative approaches, for that reason a tourist diagnosis of the management elements was carried out, the application of research instruments such as the survey to service providers and another survey addressed to visitors to the parish. In addition, an interview was applied to the main authorities of both the parish and the canton. With the information obtained from the strategic actors, service providers and visitors, the positive and negative aspects of the socio-organizational characteristics were determined, such as that 62.5% of the service providers agree that the tourist activity It must be developed in a better way since the territory has the necessary resources to become a tourist power in the south of the country and to achieve this, the strategies that should be used to achieve local tourism development were determined. With the following research work it was determined that the actions of the Parochial and Municipal Governments have not been enough for the local tourist development; therefore, it is recommended that the application of the Management Model is an important alternative to contribute to the strengthening of the tourist activity to through the correct planning, promotion, training, conservation and protection of the resources and tourist attractions of Los Encuentros Parish
