Shrnutí:The present work of titulación denominated: The basic cognitive processes and the reading comprehension in the students of first cycle of the career of Business Administration, of the Social and Administrative Juridical Faculty, 2023-2024, had as general objective: To analyse the relation between the basic cognitive processes of attention and memory and the levels implied in the Reading Comprehension: literal, reorganization of the information, inferential, critical, and of appreciation in students of first cycle of the career of Business Administration of the Social and Administrative Juridical Faculty, period 2023 -2024. It was carried out under a quantitative, descriptive, correlational and transversal approach, with a non-experimental design, with a sample of 27 students in the first cycle of the Business Administration course, parallel "C". The instruments used were: the d2 attention test, the RIAS subscale for memory and the ICLAU for reading comprehension. The results obtained showed that 82% of those investigated were at a low level of attention, and 56% at a medium level with respect to memory. As for reading comprehension, 81% were at a medium level. To establish the correlation, Kendall's Tau-b correlation coefficient was used, giving a value of +0.13, located in a range between +0 and +0.19, which indicates a very low positive correlation between the basic cognitive processes: attention and memory, and reading comprehension. It is concluded that there is a very low and insignificant relationship between the basic cognitive processes attention and memory and reading comprehension.
