Ritmos de mi país. Arreglos y composiciones de piezas musicales para formato instrumental de Big Band basados en géneros tradicionales del Ecuador

This artistic product explores the rich sound of six rhythms representative of traditional Ecuadorian music: tonada, yumbo, pasillo, pasacalle, albazo and sanjuanito. The original arrangements and compositions aim to reinterpret these genres in the Big Band format, combining their traditional elements with new sonorities and timbral possibilities. This process demonstrates Ecuadorian music's versatility and contributes to its diffusion and revaluation in contemporary settings. The document addresses both the theoretical foundation and the practical application of these arrangements and compositions, providing a valuable resource for musicians, arrangers, and educators interested in the convergence between tradition and musical innovation. Likewise, the role of popular music as a living expression of cultural identity is highlighted, demonstrating its ability to evolve and dialogue with other formats without losing its essence.
