סיכום:On the Agroloja farm, the property of Mr. Ángel Reyes, located in the Santana neighborhood, Malacatos parish, canton and province of Loja, the design of a drip irrigation system for the cultivation of coffee (Coffea Arabica) was carried out, with the objective to contribute to the efficient management of water and soil. Producers in the area were surveyed in order to characterize the productive situation of coffee cultivation, and the hydrophysical constants of the soil were evaluated, such as: field capacity (CC), permanent wilting point (PMP), texture and apparent density. Disturbed and undisturbed soil samples were taken; for the latter, 100 cm3 Koppecky cylinders were used at a depth of 20 cm. In the agronomic design, the water needs of the coffee crop were determined to be 4,3 mm/day, equivalent to 12,9 liters/tree/day. The irrigation parameters determined in the study were: 13.3 mm irrigation sheet, the irrigation frequency is daily, in which a 1,43 mm sheet will be applied (4,3 liters/tree/day) in a time of 65 minutes. In addition, the irrigation area will be controlled with a single valve, whose flow rate is 1,02 l/s. The hydraulic design determined the main, secondary and lateral pipe network, with nominal diameters of 40, 40 and 12 mm respectively. The total load necessary was 12 m, the same as that supplied with an electric pump considering that the natural difference is 8 m. The purpose of drip irrigation design is to improve the efficiency of water use, optimize labor and increase crop production and productivity, avoiding the loss of soil fertility due to erosion and deep percolation.
