| Résumé: | In the present degree work, it was designed an Android application oriented to the calculation of power transmissions by normal type roller chains, whose calculation methodology is based on methods applied in books such as (Budynas & Nisbett, 2008), catalogues as (Joresa, 2010), handbooks such as (Nieto, López, & Galvis, 2011), engineering software as Autodesk Inventor 2020®; in addition, these were also complemented with other catalogues, handbooks and texts with similar methodologies. As final result, it was obtained the chain feature according to ANSI B29 and ISO 606 standards, geometric data of the chain, power capacity, type of lubrication, and useful life of the chain, all these were based on the standards previously mentioned. Likewise, optimizing time and possible errors that occur when performing it manually. For the calculation of the useful life, it was obtained a series of equations from curves proposed by Autodesk Inventor 2020® with the help of Microsoft Excel® engineering software. The first step was to carry out a bibliographic search regarding transmissions by normal type roller chains. Then, a methodology was defined to establish a mathematical model to obtain the chain pitch, considering this an empirical method which is based on information from catalogues. The methodology used for the solution of the problem was of Lee and Christensen and the Nassi-Scheirman matrix; in addition, with the help of the dichromatic graph method, it was obtained the graph algorithm, which was used for the development of the programming in Android studio®, assigning the name to the system "Transmission Chains". In order to validate the application, it was necessary to carry out eight exercises proposed by texts referring to mechanical design, catalogues, handbooks of roller chain transmission standard and exercises proposed by the thesis tutor. Likewise, the results obtained were checked manually through the Transmission Chains application giving an average error of 0.06%. |
