| Резюме: | The information technology (IT) thinking skill called known as pattern recognition consists of searching and finding similarities or patterns in problems previously solved and analyzed, which allows information to be processed effectively. The aim of this research was to analyze the aforementioned ability in the Math planning for first and second year of high school at “Bernardo Valdivieso” School, in the morning schedule during the 2021-2022 period. The research methodology was exploratory, descriptive, non-experimental, with a quantitative approach and a deductive method that goes from general to particular. The matter under study corresponds to the micro-curricular planning used by teachers to deliver Math classes. The research instruments consisted of an observation sheet to determine the common themes between the subject of mathematics and IT thinking. Subsequently, a double entry grid was obtained to identify the pattern recognition ability in the topics of the micro-curricular planning. As a result, it was found that 75% of the subjects comply with all the necessary steps to solve a problem using the skill under research. Therefore, when describing the ability of IT thinking pattern recognition concerning Mathematics similar characteristics such as problem solving, probability and statistics were found. It is concluded that the ability to recognize patterns is integrated into the micro-curricular planning for first and second year of high school through strategic topics such as problem solving, statistics and probability.
