ROL DE LA FAMILIA EN EL CUIDADO INTEGRAL DEL ADULTO MAYOR Y LA INTERVENCIÓN DEL TRABAJADOR SOCIAL

The present study is framed in a diagnosis about the current reality of the role of the family in the integral care of the Elderly, being a vulnerable group of our population that requires priority attention and the importance of the family for its development. The family teaches and educates its members at all times, their influence can be positive or negative, but of whatever kind is a constant and inevitable influence. Given the need to include older adults within the home and the social environment with full participation, it is recognized that the family is the fundamental scenario for the development of older adults, where the first social relationships and the world that establishes it are established. surrounds From this reality, the role of the family in the comprehensive care of the Elderly and the Intervention of the Social Worker as a general objective is investigated. Identify the role that the family has in the Integral Care of the Elderly of the Municipal Attention Center N ° 1 From the city of Loja, for the improvement of their quality of life; as a specific objective To determine the role of the family in the integral care of the Elderly of the Municipal Attention Center N ° 1; Describe the Integral Care of the Elderly of the Municipal Attention Center N ° 1; Relate the role of the family and the integral care of the Municipal adult of Attention N ° 1, and finally Design a Social Action Plan that allows to strengthen the role of the family in the integral care of the elderly of municipal center of attention to the Senior adult N ° 1 from the city of Loja. The present study counted with the participation of 10 senior citizens. 10 representatives of the elderly and 3 people who work with the elderly, the methodology used was guided by the application of the scientific method, supported by auxiliary methods such as inductive, deductive, analytical and synthetic, through the use of techniques and instruments of research such as the 5 direct observation form, interviews, surveys and focus groups that allowed to fulfill the objectives set out in the research process. In the main findings obtained in the research, it is established that the role of the family in the comprehensive care of the elderly is not met with all the members of the household nucleus, determining that the role that the family must fulfill is to provide actions of support in the basic needs of the older adult such as reading, hiking, taking them to the park, going to church, visiting friends, going on a trip abroad and especially the affection that is essential for the elderly where they stated that the 40 % if it meets and 60% does not; being of great importance for the older adult the fulfillment of these roles since in this way he feels included in the different family activities improving his physical and emotional health. Likewise, through the application of the focus groups and interviews, it became known that the representatives do not fulfill the roles for the well-being of the elderly; in this way it was possible to demonstrate that in order to improve their lifestyle they are sent to the Municipal Center of attention of the Elderly so that they do not feel alone at home and they relate with people of the same age and develop their abilities, without leaving on the other hand they do it for economic reasons since they have to go out to work to be able to satisfy the different basic needs of those who make up the family nucleus. Finally, it was considered pertinent to design a social action plan that helps to strengthen the role of the family in the comprehensive care of the elderly, which includes activities and strategies that enable work where there is a link between the family and the elderly, Generating spaces of family coexistence to improve the quality of life of the elderly.
