Zusammenfassung: | The dental cavity is a pathological process characterized by a series of complex chemical reactions and microbiologys that they finish destroying the tooth. It is accepted that this damage is the result of the action from acids produced by bacterium in the environment of the dental badge. To measure this affectation they conduce different index being the most used, CPO-D (you Decay, Lost, Plugged) index. The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence of lost and plugged rotten teeth (CPOD), in the feminine students at Universidad National de Loja present modality period May-July 2014 In relation to result of the analysis CPO-D for feminine students at Universidad National de Loja, it was 9,1 in the range from 18 to 25 years old, what represents a very high index of dental problems. As for the results of cavity prevalence they were of 78%. And in relationship of the CPOD from range of 26 to 30 years old it was an index of 12, 3 which represents a too high problem. The same that was represents a percentage of 84%. Finishing the group so 26 to 30 years of age, it is the one that presented bigger risk of illness bucodental, representing a rate of high prevalence (78%) according to the scale settled down by the OMS.
