| Resumo: | The embryology has as purpose of study, all the processes involved on the transformation of an egg cell into an adult individual, the differentiation of cells in tissue, as well as the aging and cell death. This begins when a male gamete joins with female one, so that it gives origin to an egg cell or a zygote. This cell is going to experiment sequential mitotic divisions in order to form a new being. (Ediciones Educativas Santillana, 2014, p. 102) For optimal teaching - learning embryology science that explains the embryonic and fetal development in humans, it is necessary to apply methodological strategies and graphic organizers as they promote the development of cognitive skills and acquire meaningful learning. The research aimed to study GRAPHIC ORGANIZERS AS A METHODOLOGICAL STRATEGY TO IMPROVE THE PROCESS OF EMBRYOLOGY LEARNING, WITH STUDENTS OF SECOND YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL OF THE HERNÁN GALLARDO MOSCOSO HIGH SCHOOL OF THE BELÉN NEIGHBORHOOD OF LOJA CITY, ACADEMIC PERIOD 2013-2014. The current research stated as general objective the following: To use the graphic organizers in order to improve the embryology learning, with the students of second year of unified general baccalaureate at “Hernán Gallardo Moscoso” High School, in Loja city. Academic period 2013-2014 For the development of this research, it used the analytic, descriptive, inductive, deductive, and Pearson linear correlation methods. As technique, it used the survey. Finally as instrument of data collection, it used the questionnaire. Through the analysis, discussion and interpretation of the acquired outcomes, it determined that students do not have a clear substantiation of the contents of embryology and knowledge associated to this one: definition and kinds of fertilization, definition of embryology and fetal embryonic development. Thus, this affirms that the level of knowledge of embryology concept is basic; furthermore they do not use the graphic organizers to develop the contents, causing that topics about embryology are treated superficially and not with due scientific depth that subject requires to be understood. |
