Summary:Quality of healthcare is made up of two factors, interpersonal and technical skills, in other words the interaction between the healthcare professional and the patient. At the moment that care is provided, base on, the purpose of this investigation was to determine the quality of care that patient receive in the hospitalization area of the Hospital Básico de Zumba in the year 2014. In this investigation; observations and surveys were employed. These allowed for the evaluation of the status of the area of hospitalization in the Hospital Básico de Zumba. According to these surveys, the hospital is achieving 78% of the quality of care indicators. With reference to the quality of care received by patients in the hospitalization area, 53.9%, answered that the care is good. This positive evaluation was corroborated in the indicator of technical success as well. This indicator evaluates the measures taken by medical staff in the process of reaching a desired patient outcome. Who respect to who provided better care, 48.9% believe that their doctor provided better care, while 35% of patients believe they received better care from their nurses. The principal reason for deficient care, according to 52.10% of patients, was the lack of knowledge of how to provide quality care due to the continuous absenteeism of the doctors in training sessions. It can be concluded that the quality of care is good, and that the area of hospitalization is achieving 78% of the quality of care indicators, but the area should still improve in order to reach a level of excellence. With this motive, a schedule of trainings for healthcare workers was developed and implemented during the year 2014. These sessions were extremely well received and are giving positive results for those who work in this institution Keywords: user, service, quality, hospitalization.
