| Summary: | In the present investigation was to determine the status of direct composite restorations in posterior made during the period 2012 - 2013, patients who attended the adult Integral Clinic of the National University of Loja; for which the restorations was evaluated in a clinical diagnosis by direct observation and using a browser fine point also control plaque was performed to determine if it influences the state of the same and restorations were classified according to the index Mount and Hume. The result was that 67% of the restorations are in good condition (success), 30% have secondary caries or marginal microfiltration (failure) and 3% restorations are not (failure). With respect to the control of plaque it was determined that of the 67 restorations that have been successful 61.1% have plaque, 33 restorations have failed 36.3% have plate; according to the type of cavity according to the classification of Mount Zone 1 and size 2 is the most common type of cavity that has been made in the Dental Clinic. Upon completion of the study can be noted that the knowledge and the protocol used by students for making restorations is good and attributing the good condition that are the same.
