Sumario:Quality of life is defined as a set of factors that provide people with well-being, both physically and emotionally, its deterioration is associated with various factors such as age and the presence of chronic respiratory diseases, such as COPD, which It is characterized by having a progressive and irreversible character, reaching its maximum prevalence between 60 and 80 years of age. Being able to assess the quality of life in patients with COPD constitutes an opportunity to discover the real impact of the disease on daily life; The objective is to evaluate the quality of life in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in four urban and rural health centers of the Loja canton. This study was descriptive, prospective, cross-sectional. The universe of study corresponds to all patients diagnosed with COPD and who were treated in health centers, to whom the COPD Assessment Test (CAT) was applied through an interview by telephone and in person. , being a total of 30 patients. Among the main results, it was possible to show that the age group of 50 to 59 years (30%) predominated, the female sex having 63.33%, the current home as the city of Loja with (86.67%) and the health center No. 3 as the one in which the majority of cases are found with 50%; After analyzing the results obtained from the application of the COPD evaluation test, it was concluded that most of the cases are in the low impact group with 33.3%, followed by the moderate and high impact group. with 26.67% and the very severe impact group with 13.33%
