description The effect of the application of Chlorella spp., in cauliflower (Brassica oleracea var. botrytis) cultivation was evaluated. This research was developed in two phases. The experimental phase was carried out in Loja city, Carigán parish, Carigán sector / Vía de Integración Barrial, establishing the cultivation within an experimental design of completely randomized blocks with five treatments and four repetitions. Each experimental unit constituted a plot of 3.6 m2. A parametric ANOVA type analysis was applied with 95 % confidence. The results showed that T4 (Nitrofoska) and T3 (Chlorella spp.) had a direct influence on cauliflower plants such as in height and diameter, however, in the weight was obtained better results in T4 (Nitrofoska) and T5 (Ascophyllum nodusum) while in number of leaves higher values were obtained in T4 (Nitrofoska) compared to T1 (Control) and T2 (Biol), in the same way between T5 (Ascophyllum nodusum) with T1. In the agricultural yield, better results were shown in the T4 and T3 with 26.35 and 23, 85 t ha-1 respectively, followed by the T5 (Ascophyllum nodusum) with 21.75 t ha-1 and T2 (Biol) with 20.73 t ha-1. The second phase was the determination of the nutritional content of cauliflower plants by bromatological analysis, demonstrating that the treatments did not influence the content of ash, protein and crude fiber in dry matter, In the absence of significant differences, however, the content of ethereal extract in T5 (Ascophyllum nodusum) was significantly lower compared to other treatments. As for the nitrogen-free extract, it was not possible to determine its real value or its possible influence from the treatments. Keywords: Chlorella spp., cauliflower, development, yield.

Esta investigación se desarrolló en dos fases. La fase experimental se realizó en la ciudad de Loja, parroquia Carigán, sector de Carigán / Vía de Integración Barrial, estableciéndose el cultivo dentro de un diseño experimental de bloques completamente al azar con cinco tratamientos y cuatro repeticiones. Cada unidad experimental constituyó una parcela de 3,6 m2. Se aplicó un análisis tipo ANOVA paramétrico con 95 % de confianza. Los resultados mostraron que el T4 (Nitrofoska) y T3 (Chlorella spp) tuvieron una influencia directa en las plantas de coliflor como en altura y diámetro, sin embargo, en el peso se obtuvo mejores resultados en T4 (Nitrofoska) y T5 (Ascophyllum nodusum), mientras que en número de hojas se obtuvieron valores mayores en T4 (Nitrofoska) en comparación de T1 (Control) y T2 (Biol), de igual manera entre el T5 (Ascophyllum nodusum) con T1. En el rendimiento agrícola, se mostraron mejores resultados en el T4 y T3 con 26,35 y 23, 85 t ha-1 respectivamente, seguido por el T5 (Ascophyllum nodusum) con 21,75 t ha-1 y T2 (Biol) con 20,73 t ha-1. La segunda fase fue la determinación de contenido nutricional de las plantas de coliflor mediante el análisis bromatológico, demostrando que los tratamientos no influenciaron en el contenido en ceniza, proteína y fibra cruda en la materia seca, al no presentar diferencias significativas, no obstante, el contenido de extracto etéreo en T5 (Ascophyllum nodusum) fue menor significativamente frente al resto de tratamientos. En cuanto al extracto libre de nitrógeno no se pudo precisar su valor real ni su posible influencia de los tratamientos.
