| Riassunto: | Since the invention of computers, the emergence of the Internet has given rise to a vast cyber world that has become one of the most widely used tools in modern society. Students, in particular, have embraced the Internet as a fundamental tool to facilitate their academic studies. However, the omnipresence of the Internet in various areas of society has led to the spread of countless platforms and pages that can become addictive, especially for young people. Faced with this problem, an investigation was proposed to address this problem, with the objective of determining the presence of cyber addiction in students of the Electromechanics career of the Universidad Nacional de Loja (Cycle, October, 2023). The method carried out in the present research was a qualitative approach of exploratory type, with a field design since the information obtained through a questionnaire was extracted directly from the subjects under study. The results of the research suggest that 5.1 % of the students present a severe addiction and 13.2 % present a mild addiction, in the same sense 4 % of the students of the career present to have the syndrome of severe cybernetic addiction and 10.7 % in a mild form. According to the results of the research, the majority of the students have a healthy management of their time online and do not present serious signs of cyber addiction. Similarly at the population level, cyber addiction syndrome is not a prevalent problem in the Electromechanics career.
