总结:Gastrointestinal parasitosis is one of the main causes of productivity losses in cattle farms worldwide, due to the variety of parasites that lodge in the digestive tract causing lesions and functional disorders that impact on weight gain, growth retardation and decreased milk and meat production. The objective of this research was to determine the presence of gastrointestinal parasites in cattle in the parish of San Antonio de Cumbe, Saraguro canton, and to know what factors may be associated with them. A total of 120 samples of bovine feces from 40 farms were collected and analyzed using zinc sulfate flotation and formalin-ether sedimentation techniques. At the farm level, the presence of gastrointestinal parasites was determined in 51.50 % (21/40), while at the individual level it was 43.33 % (52/120), of which 78.84 % (41/52) belonged to nematodes, 11.54 % (6/52) to protozoa and nematodes, 5.77 % (3/52) to cestodes and nematodes and 3.85 % (2/52) only to protozoa. With respect to order and genus, the following were found: Strongylids in 71.15 % (37/52), Strongylids and Eimeria spp. 11.54 % (6/52), Trichostrongylus spp. 7.69 % (4/52), Strongylids and Moniezia benedeni 5.77 % (3/52) and Eimeria spp. 3.85 % (2/52). In the statistical analysis using Fisher's exact test, a statistically significant relationship was determined with the type of water consumption, deworming and frequency of deworming (p < 0.05). Consequently, the presence of gastrointestinal parasites in cattle continues to be a latent problem in this area and its control is a challenge, since an integral management is required to establish more rational programs according to the characteristics of each farm.
