Riassunto:The present research work entitled "Sociocultural factors that limit the use of contraceptive methods in the inhabitants from 15 to 45 years old of the community La Wintza-Centinela del Cóndor, academic period March-August 2015” This research had as aim to characterize socio-demographically the population under study and identify social and cultural factors that limit the use of contraceptive methods in the inhabitants of La Wintza community. The type of this research is a quantitative-qualitative, descriptive prospective combination; it was carried out in the Wintza community located in the canton Centinela del Cóndor- Zamora Chinchipe. The sample consisted of 54 people aged between 15-45 years; for quantitative information and a second sample was taken by saturation (20 people) for qualitative information, the data collection was carried out through surveys and a guide of interview. After the analysis and interpretation of the data, it was concluded that the community La Wintza consists of 172 inhabitants of which 76 are between 15 to 45 years, 43 of them are females and 33 are males. Mostly from a rural area, likewise a considerable number of people (46 people) have finished high school. Regarding the marital status; most people are single, and a similar percentage are married or cohabiting. The main occupation are household chores and agriculture. The predominantly religion is the Catholicism. The main social factors that limit the use of contraceptive methods are: the economic situation and the influence of the knowledge transmitted by friends or relatives; among cultural factors the greatest influence this population has towards contraceptive methods is due to myths, beliefs and religion.
