| Samenvatting: | Burnout syndrome, also considered by the World Health Organization as an occupational and professional burnout, it produces a progressive damage in physical and mental health on individuals that suffer this syndrome, has been established as a kind of occupational and emotional stress, which is mainly observed in health professionals who maintain direct and constant contact with other people. This usually affects their professional performance, which reduces the quality of care for the patients. It is not a well-known pathology but it has become a critical issue because of the damage it can cause. This is why this research has as objectives: to determine the prevalence of Burnout syndrome by applying MASLASCH scale and to identify the main risk factors associated with Burnout Syndrome in personnel working at the General Hospital Isidro Ayora of the City of Loja, focusing on a quantitative, cross-sectional and descriptive study with 188 health professionals. This data was obtained through the application of the Maslach Burnout Inventory questionnaire (MBI). The recollected results showed a global rate of incidence from 40.96%, on ages between 30 to 40 years old professionals with 62.34%, on female genre with 58.44%, on single people with 44.15%, in nursery staff with 58.44%, from 0 to 10 years of professionals development with 41.56%, with more than 40 hours a week with 59.74%. Concluding, that the population surveyed has a relevant prevalence, with related issues. Key Words: Burnout, Maslach, Emotional Stress, Personal Fulfillment. |
