Resumo:Nowadays, with the advance of technology, educating is different, for this reason, it is necessary to integrate the STEM model in the educational process, which promotes observation, experimentation, asking questions, using tools, encouraging the creation of new things, decision making, problem solving, sequences, patterns, exploring shapes, among others, contributing to the development of 21st century skills to face current and future demands. Nowadays, education is totally different due to the technological advance, for this reason it is necessary to include the STEM model inside the educational process which promotes observation, experimentation, curiosity, creativity and innovation. In addition, STEM Project encourages students to start creating new things, problem solving, develop critical thinking, decision making, leadership, entrepreneurship, among others, contributing to the development of 21st century skills to face current and future demands. In this reasearch, it was essential to use quantitave approach taking account the descriptive design. Therefore, the reasearcher took a sample of 32 students who gave the enough information to develop this work with real data. Moreover, it was remarkable to use the following methods such as analytical-synthetic, inductive and deductive ones. Besides, the instrument used to have real and reliable information was a survey where it was found that students develop modern skills such as creativity, critical thinking, collaborative work in class; in spite of some teachers use traditional resources like the board. As a conclusion it was found that if the institution uses the STEM model in the teaching learning process, it will be developing the scientific technological skills because all the human activities are related to science knowledge induded technology. In addition, it is important to design guidelines that facilitate carrying out the STEM model in this institution. Keyword: STEM, interdisciplines, active methodologies, competencies, skills.
