An optimal nutritional status consists on maintaining a good health and to protect the individual from the diseases and disorders favoring children in their normal growth and development. Because of that, the present study was developed in order to determine the quantity of calcium and phosphorus, relating to the nutritional status, using a descriptive cross-sectional study, in which we worked with a sample of 124 school-age children of 5 to 12 years, who were part of the inclusion criteria of the determination of calcium and phosphorus that was performed by the photometric-colorimetric method, it was used anthropometry to assess nutritional status. We reached the following conclusions: it was found a decreased calcium (hypocalcemia) in 21.8%, a decreased phosphorus (hypophosphatemia) in 20.2%, in terms of nutritional assessment nutritional deficit was found 10.5% and overweight by 1.6%., on the relationship between serum levels of calcium and phosphorus in nutritional status are 86,7% of the 13 children who had a nutritional deficit.
