“EL EFECTO DEL SECTOR SERVICIOS EN EL CRECIMIENTO ECONÓMICO, UN ANÁLISIS ECONOMÉTRICO CON DATOS PANEL A NIVEL MUNDIAL,

Over time, the service sector has gained strength and has a greater importance for economic growth, since it has become a significant sector in the world's economies, which is why the study examines the effect of the services sector in economic growth from 1980-2017 to observe how this sector has been introduced in global economies. For the development of the research, data from the World Bank (2020) and the Atlas method (2020) were used. Using the GDP at constant prices 2010 as an independent variable; as an independent variable services, added value and as a control variable imports of goods and services. For the panel data model, the cointegration tests of Pedroni (1999) and Westerlund (2007) were used to identify the equilibrium relationship in the short and long term. The result was that there is a trend and positive correlation at the global level by income level; in the long term there is a positive and significant relationship, in the short term there is a balanced relationship between the services sector and economic growth. Therefore, it is necessary to increase investment in said sector to maintain continuity and improvement; and in turn have greater productivity in the economy.
