The type of study is observational, analytical and cross-sectional, same that allowed to determine the existence of different kinds of bacteria. To carry out this study, 25 toothbrushes were delivered to children of Centro Infantil Municipal Mercado Centro Comercial # 2, and after one month they were removed. A microbiological analysis was carried out in MEDILAB laboratory. The data was processed in the SPSS statistical analysis program. Obtaining as relevant results the presence of bacteria such as: Streptpcoccus spp 45.2% (19) Echerichia coli 23.80% (10). Klebsiella pneumoniae 16.7% (7) Pseudomonas spp 7.2% (3) Streptpcoccus B 2.4% (1) Staphylococcus spp 2.4% (1) Micrococcus spp 2.4% (1). The most prevalent bacterium was Streptococcus spp, and its presence is due to different storage conditions observed such as: location of the toothbrush, distance with respect to the toilet, way of storage, care of the toothbrush, the frequency of brushing and the presence of some common disease in children. Keywords: Pollution, identification, microorganism, toothbrush.El presente trabajo de investigación está enfocado al conocimiento e identificación de diferentes bacterias que se almacenan en el cepillo dental, para ello se planteó como objetivo principal: Evaluar la contaminación bacteriana de los cepillos dentales utilizados por los niños de 4 años de edad del Centro Infantil Municipal Mercado Centro Comercial # 2. Asimismo, identificar las condiciones que favorecen al desarrollo de los diferentes microorganismos encontrados. El tipo de estudio es observacional, analítico y de corte transversal; mismo que permitió determinar la existencia de las distintas clases de bacterias. Para llevar a cabo el presente estudio se entregó 25 cepillos dentales a los niños del Centro Infantil Municipal Mercado Centro Comercial # 2, y al cabo de un mes fueron retirados. Se procedió a realizar un análisis microbiológico, en el laboratorio de MEDILAB. Los datos se procesaron en el programa de análisis estadístico SPSS. Obteniendo como resultados relevantes la presencia de bacterias como: Streptpcoccus spp 37,5% (12) Echerichia coli 31,3% (10). Klebsiella pneumoniae 15.6% (5) Pseudomonas spp 6,3% (2) Streptpcoccus B 3,1% (1) Staphylococcus spp 3,1% (1) Micrococcus spp 3,1% (1). La bacteria más prevalente fue Streptococcus spp, y su presencia es debida a distintas condiciones de almacenamiento observadas tales como: ubicación del cepillo dental, distancia con respecto al inodoro, forma de almacenamiento, cuidado del cepillo dental, la frecuencia del cepillado y la presencia de alguna enfermedad común en los niños.
