| Summary: | This research entitled: DANCE TO DEVELOP THE GROSS MOTOR SKILLS OF HIGH SCHOOL CHILDREN OF THE LIEUTENANT HUGO ORTIZ SCHOOL IN THE CITY OF LOJA, 2018-2019 PERIOD, has the general objective: to establish dance as a methodological strategy to develop gross motor skills in high school children. Whose type of study was descriptive, two themes were addressed in the literature review: dance and gross motor skills; The methods used were: scientific, statistical, inductive - deductive and descriptive; The technique developed was through a survey aimed at teachers and as an instrument the scale of evaluation of psychomotor skills in preschool of the Cross and Mazaira was used, applied to children the same that provided an assessment of psychomotor development of infants between 4 and 6 years. From the information obtained it is shown that 59.09% equivalent to 12 of the children evaluated present problems in their gross motor skills, that is, they have a low level of motor skills in relation to their chronological age for this purpose a proposal based on a workshop was designed dance where children were allowed through the movements to improve their coordination, rhythm and laterality that are one of the most frequent problems. The application of the proposal had a positive impact by the set of movements that were pleasant for the children evaluated, progressively improving the gross motor skills of the infants, the effectiveness of this proposal was evidenced by observing and applying the post-test where it was verified that dance positively influences the improvement of gross motor skills. Therefore, it is concluded that in high school teachers must design dance-based strategies that allow children to develop their gross motor skills. |
