Summary: | The present research focuses on collecting meteorological data that allows to analyze and take advantage of natural phenomena produced by the sun, such as solar radiation and wind speed, in such a way that they can be implemented for the benefit and tracking in the development of research in the southern region of the country. This is part of the institutional research project "Development of a decision support system for photovoltaic self-consumption in Ecuador: Practical case in the southern region." For data collection and transmission, it will make use of the meteorological stations belonging to UNL, located in the Loja province in cantons like Loja, Zapotillo, Zapotepamba, and the Zamora Chinchipe province in the Yantzaza canton. These stations count with a data storage, processing, transmission, and reading system, conformed by devices such as Vaisala QML201 datalogger, Sierra Wireless Fastrack FXT009 GSM and GPRS modem, Kipp & Zonen CMP 3 pyranometer, Young 86000 ultrasonic wind sensor, Vaisala HMP110 humidity and temperature probe, Phocos CML10 solar charge controller, and PS-12260 lead-acid batteries. The transmission of meteorological data via cellular networks is achieved by initially configuring a hosting and web domain, obtained through the HostGator company. Through the cPanel web hosting control panel provided by the same hosting, an FTP account is created. This will be entered along with the web domain in the configuration of the datalogger, and in conjunction with the GSM and GPRS modem, the data will be transmitted to a storage folder within the web hosting file administrator. The meteorological data will be stored and managed in MySQL databases. Meanwhile, the development of the website is primarily done by the Content Management System (CMS) WordPress. This system also has tools called Plugins that allow designing and presenting visually various table models and charts from the meteorological data stored in MySQL databases.
