Description
Summary:In recent years, according to the World Bank (2022), global economic growth slowed significantly from 5.5% in 2021 and 4.1% in 2022, with Ecuador being one of the countries with the worst performance where the participation of the private sector it is essential. Taking this context into account, the objective of the research revolved around determining the impact of the participation of Micro, Small and Medium Companies (MSMEs) in the Ecuadorian economy for the period 2009-2019. For which, data from the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INEC, 2021) were collected using the Generalized Least Squares (GLM) model for panel data. The main results indicate the existence of a positive and significant relationship of the production generated by MSMEs in economic growth where the region of greatest significance was the Amazon as opposed to the Sierra; In addition, if there is no equilibrium relationship in the long term as in the short term; Furthermore, there is no causal relationship between the participation of MSMEs and economic growth. Therefore, the proposed economic policies focus on increasing the level of productivity, promoting the growth of MSMEs through economies of scale, in addition to preventing companies already positioned in the market from disappearing because it is intended to promote the sector. Manufacturing and services for a better economic growth of the country.
