Sammanfattning:Toxoplasmosis is the most common zoonosis in humans. This parasitic disease caused by a protozoan known as Toxoplasma gondii, is at risk of vertical transmission to the fetus in a primary infection during pregnancy, which can cause significant morbidity in the fetus and newborn with possible long-term sequelae in children and adults. This infectious disease can produce clinical manifestations in the newborn, ranging from typical Sabin tetrad (chorioretinitis, hydrocephalus, calcifications and psychomotor retardation) to a visceral box (hepatosplenomegaly, jaundice), sepsis or entirely nonspecific. Given this reality, in this research has set targets that help verify the presence of antibodies to toxoplasma adolescent girls from two schools of the city of Loja, and thus reference work together towards this reality and help improve health by working together and helping to provide a good quality of life to the ladies and children their start then. The present study is descriptive and cross, took into account that the issue is relevant and current, reviewed literature and obtained permission from the school, after this, samples were obtained and analyzed in the laboratory performing the test microelisa of toxoplasma IgG, and finally, the information obtained was tabulated for the respective subsequent analysis and delivery of results. The results show that 93.94% of the study are ladies in the values of the Toxoplasma IgG negative test, while 6.01% have positive test values, and finally, the data obtained in the survey.
