Özet:The traction of impacted upper canines is an important orthodontic procedure designed to correct the position of these teeth and improve dental aesthetics. In this context, this study aims to evaluate orthodontic strategies for the management of impacted upper canine traction. A qualitative, descriptive methodology is used, focusing on literature and bibliographic analysis. The primary method of data collection is a comprehensive review of key databases including PubMed, SciELO, Medline and Elsevier. In addition, the study applies specific inclusion and exclusion criteria and analyses research conducted between 2014 and 2024. The findings indicate that, although each technique offers distinct advantages, such as precise control over tooth movement and the ability to apply continuous force, they present significant disadvantages as well. These disadvantages include the technical complexity of implementation, the risk of patient discomfort due to sustained pressure, and the need for continuous adjustments to maintain treatment effectiveness. In conclusion, the selection of a traction technique should be guided by a comprehensive evaluation of the individual case, considering the specific characteristics of the retained canine and the technical proficiency of the orthodontist. This strategy is important to optimize treatment outcomes and minimize complications
