Čoahkkáigeassu:Natural regeneration of native species has been affected by the introduction of exotic species that generate changes in the succession of plant species, development, and composition. This study had the objective of characterizing the floristic composition and monitoring the natural regeneration under an exotic plantation of Pinus radiata D. Don, considering regeneration categories: seedlings, saplings, and latizales. Five sample plots of 20 m x 20 m were established, and five sub-plots of 5 m x 5 m, and five sub-plots of 1 m x 1 m were nested. Height and diameter were measured and survival and growth were determined over a period of 9 months. In addition, the influence of environmental variables (luminosity, slope, depth of the soil O horizon) on natural regeneration was analyzed. 648 individuals of 24 species, 21 genera, and 22 families were identified. The latizal category presented greater diversity, and among the species of greatest ecological importance in the three categories, Piper barbatum and Viburnum triphyllum stand out. The latizales present greater survival (99.37%), followed by saplings (87.59%) and seedlings (82.76%). The increase in height and diameter is dominated by tree species such as Frangula granulosa, Clusia latipes, Critoniopsis pycnantha and Alnus acuminata. 31.40% of light entry into the understory, 41.71% slope and depth of the soil O horizon between 1 cm to 3.50 cm were recorded. The natural regeneration evidenced indicates that in the future the forest mass of native plant species may increase.
