| description | This investigation evaluated the use of enzyme complexes in high fiber diets applied to broiler chickens during the growth stage (14 to 33 days), raised in Loja canton, province of Loja. Two hundred chickens from the HUBBARD line were used, randomly distributed in 20 groups, where each experimental unit consisted of 10 animals. Two treatments were evaluated with ad libitum feeding, with diets of 4.1% of crude fiber and a decrease to 10% of metabolizable energy and protein for both. In Treatment 1, enzyme complexes (Probioenzyme® Px) were added, while in Treatment 2, no enzymes were included. The results showed significant differences (P=<0.001) in the final weight for the diet with enzymes (2659 g) which was higher than the diet without enzymes (2486 g). Thus, a higher food consumption (P=<0.001) of the enzyme treatment (186 g) over the non-enzyme treatment (167 g) was evidenced in the sixth week. Regarding to weight gain and feed conversion, statistical differences were recorded in the second week (P=<0.001) between the treatments. In relation to digestive parameters, data was collected by slaughtering a chicken from each experimental unit on the 33th day; thus, the results were obtained without significant differences between treatments. Therefore, it is concluded that the incorporation of enzymes has a positive influence on the productive performance and better development of the digestive organs. Key words: Enzymes, fiber, metabolic diseases, restriction |
