| Izvleček: | The Improvement plan for the production of guinea pigs in the " Mister Cuy Ascázubi " association aims to: perform a current diagnosis of guinea pig production in the association; determine the critical points in the production system; economic analysis to determine production costs, margins and profitability, development plan that will improve the production of guinea pigs; and socialize the results to associated producers. In the methodology used scientific, analytical, inductive and deductive methods, research techniques visit directly to producers thirteen sheds, each observation surveys and field day to socialize results used in the methodology. The elements of the study were: situational analysis of production, economic analysis, improvement plan and socialization of results. The results indicate that most producers have adequate facilities but low number of guinea pigs, feeding is based in forage or mixed, the breeding season is handled at the discretion of each producer, health and biosecurity are inadequate and increase mortality rates especially in suckling infants, and do not handle records. In the economic analysis it was determined that the most representative costs are labor, production and maintenance of forage, profitability is $ 27,40; the cost benefit ratio is 1,38. It is concluded that the number of animals does not justify the production costs; there is inadequate reproductive management, inefficient feeding system and mismanagement of health and biosecurity. With the improvement plan is recommended to work with at least 100 breeding that should empadrar the third of each month, mixed feeding with fodder and balanced, nutritional blocks to supplement the requirements, optimize facilities, reproductive management with optimal production rates, good practices biosecurity and health management and use of records to producers to carry out a technical management and technology in the guinea pigs production. |
